for Steerable Catheters & Delivery Systems

ATAR™ Temporary Extension Cables

Precision in Every Detail

Integer designs and manufactures premium pull-wire assemblies distinguished by our meticulous attention to detail and the utilization of state-of-the-art laser technology. Leveraging advanced laser cutting and welding techniques, our team of experts achieve fine wall thicknesses and precise slot depths, which are critical for the demanding requirements of steerable catheters and intricate delivery systems. Throughout the development process, our engineers apply their deep expertise to optimize every element of the assembly, ensuring maximum pull strength and exceptional device functionality.

To further elevate the performance of your medical devices, Integer offers comprehensive customization options for pull-wire assemblies. OEMs can choose from a variety of high-performance coatings, such as PTFE and parylene, each tailored to specific device needs. These coatings significantly reduce friction, enhance durability by providing robust surface protection, and add electrical insulation for specialized applications. Our automated coating systems and stringent quality controls guarantee that each coating is applied with consistent thickness and uniformity, supporting reliable operation even in the most complex geometries.

Integer’s commitment to quality extends beyond manufacturing. We employ sophisticated inspection and testing protocols, including scanning electron microscopy (SEM) imaging of welded areas, to detect and address any microstructural imperfections at the earliest stages. This rigorous approach not only assures long-term reliability and safety for end users but also facilitates ongoing process optimization to meet the most stringent standards in the medical device industry.

As a collaborative partner, Integer prioritizes customer needs by delivering innovative solutions, flexible customization, and unwavering precision. Whether you require assemblies for high-volume production or specialized prototypes, our integrated engineering and manufacturing capabilities ensure your devices achieve the highest levels of performance and reliability.

  • Our engineering team applies deep design expertise to develop laser-cut pull-rings and optimized welding processes that maximize pull strength and enable high-performance device functionality.
  • Our advanced laser systems deliver precise cutting and welding with tight tolerances and repeatable quality, supporting high-volume manufacturing for complex assemblies with speed and reliability.
  • We offer a broad range of PTFE and parylene coatings that enhance device performance across complex geometries. Our automated systems and process-driven quality controls ensure consistent and repeatable application.

Ensuring Design Excellence

SEM imaging of the ring surface post-welding is utilized to evaluate the weld pool at high magnification and detect any potential microcracking. By employing scanning electron microscopy (SEM), our engineers are able to closely examine the microstructural characteristics of the welded area, including the morphology of the weld pool, grain boundaries, and the presence of inclusions or voids.

This high-resolution analysis provides critical insight into the quality and integrity of the weld, allowing for the identification of even the smallest microcracks or defects that may not be visible through traditional inspection methods. Detecting and addressing these microscopic imperfections early in the process is essential for ensuring the long-term reliability and performance of pull-wire assemblies in steerable catheters and delivery systems. SEM imaging supports process optimization by enabling our team of experts to correlate welding parameters with resulting weld quality, thereby facilitating continuous improvement and adherence to the most stringent medical device standards.
