A PTFE covered stent tube designed by Integer.

Implant Covering

We offer a range of versatile implant coating capabilities to enhance the functionality of medical devices. By offering multiple processing techniques, ultra low profile coatings can be achieved on even the most complex implant geometries, from laser cut, braided or wire formed implants, to shape formed medical fabrics. We specialize in elastomeric coatings, chosen from a wide range of resorbable and non-resorbable materials, suitable for short or long term implantable use.

All coating is carried out in a Class 8/ 100,000 cleanroom environment, with a dedicated coating laboratory for the production of R&D batches required for in-vitro testing and animal studies, with separate coating facilities for commercial manufacturing.

PTFE Implant Covering

PTFE (PolyTetraFluoroEthylene)

PTFE is a well-established biomaterial with a long clinical history of implantation. It has been approved by regulatory bodies for several decades and is used extensively in a range of vascular indications.

The unique physical & mechanical characteristics of PTFE enable it’s use as a stand-alone, surgically implanted material, or for direct attachment to an implantable frame for transcatheter delivery.

Integer can support optimization of your implant

  • Seamless attachment to implantable frames
  • Suitable for balloon & self-expanding devices
  • Thicknesses from as low as 40 microns (0.0016”)
  • Tailored inter-nodal distance for tissue ingrowth
  • Optimize covering permeability to prevent leakage
  • Mechanical properties refined and characterized
  • Cover complex geometries including contours & flares
  • Integer can also offer seamless bifurcated & trifurcated designs
