Implantable Batteries

Implantable Batteries

Our implantable batteries are built upon unparalleled quality standards delivering safe and dependable power to your medical device. We provide standard options for Primary (Non-rechargeable) and Secondary (Rechargeable) cells, as well as customized power source solutions that are designed and manufactured to meet customer unique requirements.

Lithium Iodine (Lil) cells continue to be the industry standard in pacemakers – powering millions of devices. These batteries offer high energy density and stability at low rates (microampre levels) over longer periods of time making them ideal for many bradycardia devices.

Lithium Iodine Low Rate Battery

Available in non-proprietary configurations to speed development timelines or in custom-engineered configurations to meet application-specific needs.

Integer offers two chemistry types QMR™ and CFX™. These medium-rate primary cells are typically used in applications where milliampere-level (up to 300mA) pulse currents are required to deliver therapy. Both chemistries are available in non-proprietary configurations to speed development timelines or in custom-engineered configurations to meet application-specific needs.

Battery
QMR™ Cells

QMR medium rate batteries are optimized for the increased power needs of today’s RF-enabled active implantable devices. QMR batteries are designed to deliver maximum longevity in the smallest possible package. This chemistry is ideal for pacers, neurostimulators, pumps and telemetry devices.

CFX Cells

Designed to have medium rate capability, Greatbatch Medical’s lithium/carbon monoflouride (CFx) batteries deliver high energy density, low self-discharge and high pulse currents. CFx batteries are used in advanced bradycardia devices, neurostimulation devices, cardiac sensors as well as drug infusion pumps.

QHR Battery

QHR® high-rate primary cells are typically used in cardiac rhythm devices to treat tachycardia as well as other implantable applications where ampere-level pulse currents are required to provide effective therapy.

Our QHR hybrid-cathode battery technology is specifically engineered to provide maximum device performance and ensure longevity with minimal size.

When paired with QCAPS high voltage capacitors, QHR batteries provide the smallest, longest-lived, highest-energy power solutions for today’s tachycardia devices. Second-generation QHR batteries utilize the same reliable chemistry as previous generation QHR batteries delivering the most energy- and power-dense ICD battery solution available.

QHR batteries are available in custom-engineered configurations to meet application-specific needs.

Neuro SecondaryCells

Our Xcellion® Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) secondary rechargeable cells are the power source of choice for implantable neuromodulation and circulatory support (LVAD) devices where application energy demands exceed the practical limits of primary batteries.

Integer’s CoreGuard™ technology, combined with the Xcellion rechargeable cells, provides customers with peace of mind that battery integrity will be maintained during prolonged periods of device inactivity. Contact us to learn more about how CoreGuard enables full discharge over prolonged periods with minimal degradation in capacity.

Xcellion batteries are available in non-proprietary configurations to speed development timelines or in custom-engineered configurations to meet application-specific needs.
